Review and Update Record

What Conserve Helium monitors, how changes are reviewed, and why a working source link is not a factual revalidation.

Current editorial coverage

The science, application and conservation guides added in this project phase were reviewed against their cited material through October 24, 2026. World Helium Watch’s news coverage currently runs through October 23, 2026; that cutoff does not imply a continuous live news feed.

The Rocky Mountain Helium archive covering 1995–2017 remains reserved for the final phase. It is not included as a completed, reviewed archive.

Weekly source checks

All 118 sources presently recorded in the source registry have been assigned weekly Firecrawl monitoring. A separate weekly review checks source changes against the pages using them. Newly registered material should be added to that coverage as the registry grows.

The October 24 baseline surfaced a Goodyear history page returning a 502 response and a Siemens training URL presenting a login page despite HTTP 200. These are flagged for follow-up. A reachable URL alone does not establish that the cited evidence remains visible or correct.

How a change becomes an edit

  • Monitor retrieval and differences; record access failures, redirects and blocked content separately.
  • Read changed passages and assess whether a published claim actually needs revision.
  • Use authoritative replacement evidence where appropriate and retain the last good citation while resolving a temporary failure.
  • Record the source checked, review result and any page revision. Never change a factual review date merely because an automated request succeeded.

Our methods page explains the evidence standard. Submit a concern through Contact and Corrections.
