Conservation Tools and Worksheets

Download four fillable worksheets for helium inventory, gas streams, supplier questions and purchasing decisions.

A practical four-page packet

Use these fillable worksheets to organize a conservation discussion with your facility team and suppliers. They help document assumptions and evidence; they do not size equipment or replace an engineering assessment.

Four pages · 36 fillable fields · US Letter · also suitable for printing. Save a local copy after entering information. Some browser viewers support fewer form features than a dedicated PDF reader.

What is inside

  • Inventory and loss balance: record the system boundary, period and common quantity basis; investigate any unreconciled difference.
  • Gas-stream map: identify outlets, gas composition, collection destinations and evidence for approved reuse.
  • Supplier questionnaire: ask about purity, equipment requirements, recovery, service and data.
  • Purchasing decision: compare options, identify unknowns and assign follow-up actions.

Use one boundary and one quantity basis

For a period balance: opening inventory + new purchases + external returns − closing inventory − external transfers − known losses = unreconciled difference. Internal circulation stays inside the boundary. A difference is a prompt to investigate measurements and assumptions; it is not proof of a leak by itself.

Pair the packet with the units guide, Helium Recovery Handbook and alternatives guide.

Start with evidence

Ask which losses were actually measured, which were estimated, and under what operating conditions. Keep the relevant supplier specifications and source documents with the completed worksheet. Have qualified staff evaluate proposed changes before implementation.
